As soon as you come through our gates and up our hill, you'll immediately feel like you've stumbled upon a secret jewel, a hidden treasure. One of the nuns or "Madre" will greet you and direct you toward the farm, where Madre Annie will welcome you and give you a brief introduction to the animals.
Once at the countryhouse or "Cascina," set down your things and start taking-in the peace and tranquility after your hectic travels or busy workdays. There will be wine, bread, and the convent's oil, ready for you to enjoy. If you'd like an Italian Espresso, let's make it together! There are jugs of cool (but not iced!) water also accessible. This is now "casa," and we're happy if you feel at home!
Now the crafting begins. See the calendar for crafting options. The point is to have fun, allow kids to "figure things out" on their own (something so important for them!), and go away with something beautiful and entirely handmade! The goal is the process, not the product: while your guide is a professional artist, the point of the activity isn't to produce a polished, quality masterpiece. The aim is to build self-confidence and work on practical problem-solving skills in a highly simulating and enjoyable manner!
The workshop ends with a chance to take pictures with your favorite new friends (everyone pick their favorite animal!) and salutations!
"Tornate presto!" Now, y'all come back soon, you hear!
